One Digital is an early careers program built to develop a strong pipeline of diverse digital talent. Our graduate program is for 3 years. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to complete 3 rotations designed to give you hands on experience in a real work environment and experience supporting different aspects of bp’s business. You will also take part in development opportunities designed to build both your technical and universal skills; empowering you to strive for excellence, today and in the future. Another key aspect of your program are our signature engagements- high impact and engaging events that are unique to bp, like bpChallenge. These experiences will help you build your network and offer visibility across the organisation. Throughout the program you’ll have a dedicated support network to provide guidance on the program and advice on career development. About the discipline: Information Security

The digital disciplines are a logical grouping of digital capabilities that facilitate the development of skills and experience, career progression and digital talent in bp. Our digital disciplines are made up of specialist sub-disciplines which focus on aspects of our digital capability. Information security: Our team drives the design and delivery of security services with the aim of protecting bp against threats and attacks. As part of this, we help teams and businesses understand cyber risk and take personal ownership of cyber security. Global vendors look to us to push their thinking – so we’re always at the forefront of change. This includes:

• Information security
• Governance, risk and compliance
• Operational security management
• Information security engineering

Role and responsibilities

• This role will be part of the Information Security discipline and during the early careers programme duration, you will be placed in a different role within this discipline as part of a rotation process.
• Our core information security specialists build customer trust and empower businesses to understand cyber threats, identify vulnerabilities and manage cyber risks to their business operations. They advise on complex information security and risk management issues. A real challenge!
• Creating global policy, enabling bp to meet regulatory requirements and advising on group cyber risk management is essential and the focus of the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) group.
• Within operational security management, you’ll experience opportunities to design, deliver, and manage critical operational security systems. This team enables active, intelligence, and analytics-led incident response company-wide. Our 24/7 operations requires advanced technical and investigative skills covering automation, system security, corporate solutions and counter threat and intelligence tooling.
• Being part of Information security engineering offers the opportunity to enable our business to play to win by designing and implementing controls that ensure technology products and services are secure by design. Essential nowadays!

Requirements

• To apply for this role, you will preferably need a 3.2 CGPA and above, or equivalent , ideally focused on Computer Science, information security , Cybersecurity , Digital Forensics or equivalent.
• You’llalsoneed to be in your final year of study or have completed your degree.
• Being analytical and logical. You’ll be keen on solving security problems in a creative manner to serve the businesses you support underpinned with a passion for enabling safe operations.
• You’ll enjoy exploring and experimenting with new and emerging technologies too and pitting your wits against cyber threat.
• An understanding of modern development methodologies (Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban) with real-world experience in automation using Python or other high-level languages. Even if you’re new to coding, demonstrate your ability to rapidly explore new technologies
• Soft skills: Good communication skills, continuous learning & improvement mindset, an empathetic, curious, creative & inclusive team player.
