Job summary

Motorola Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced professional to join our Global Supply Assurance team in Penang. You will run and participate in supply resilience reviews with category managers and executive teams, and understand key products impacting our business and supplier constraints.

You will drive gating items to resolution with Purchasing, Category Teams, Suppliers, Engineering and executives, explore alternatives, and work with cross‑functional teams to reduce lead times

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in purchasing, procurement, or materials in a Supply Chain.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and relationship skills.
• Experience with Oracle MRP and supplier collaboration tools.
• Able to coordinate across time zones and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Runs and participates in supply resilience reviews with Category Managers and Exec teams.
• Understand key products impacting the business and supplier constraints.
• Drive gating items to resolution with Purchasing, Category Teams, Suppliers, Engineering, and Exec teams.
• Explore options such as distribution changes, alternative suppliers, expedited freight.
• Reduce lead-times and understand long pole suppliers.
• Collaborate with business teams on short and long-term forecasts and communications.
• Identify potential alternate suppliers.
• Highlight shortages, both short and long term.
• Drive overall shortage metrics.
• Provide training on escalation guidelines and monitoring.
• Communicate long-term supply concerns and drive solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Runs and participates in Supply Resilience reviews with the Category Managers and Executive teams
• Understands those key products impacting each business, key Customers, and what is preventing our suppliers from building
• Drives each gating item to resolution with both the Purchasing teams, Category Teams, Suppliers, Engineering, and Exec team
• Looks at all possible options to resolve including: distribution, Alternative suppliers, Expedited freight, etc
• Understands current Lead-Times and what the long pole is for our key suppliers, drives to reduce these Lead-times
• Works with the Business Teams to understand both short and long-term forecast and the communication to the teams.
• Participates in driving potential alternate suppliers
• Understands key shortages both short and long term.
• Drives overall shortage Metrics
• Provides training to sites on escalation guidelines, monitoring to make sure the teams are following the guidelines
• Effectively communicates long-term supply concerns, drives solutions
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements

• Candidate must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Management or equivalent from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in purchasing, procurement, materials position(s) in a Supply Chain organization.
• Strong operational Purchasing, Procurement background required
• Good written and verbal communication to our suppliers and internal
• Experience using Oracle MRP and electronic supplier collaboration tools
• Motivated and energetic to accomplish task and goals
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, relationship and organization skill
• Able to develop and collaborate solutions to Motorola internal customer
• Relationship builder, strong customer service focus and change Agent
• Ability to work with minimal supervision & strong execution Focus
• Flexible to support multiple time zone and working with people of various cultures.
• Flexibility to support across different time zone
