To lead the strategic development and execution of global talent and learning initiatives that build a future-ready workforce for Wilhelmsen Ship Management. This role is responsible for designing impactful learning experiences, managing flagship talent programs, and embedding knowledge management practices that support leadership development, capability building, and long-term organizational growth.
This is a sole contributor role at global level working with senior stakeholders and HR community.
Main responsibilities
Develop and implement a global talent and learning strategy aligned with WSM’s business goals and values.
Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide learning and development programs, including leadership development, technical training, and digital learning.
Lead knowledge management initiatives to capture, organize, and share critical institutional knowledge across the organization.
Oversee talent management processes including succession planning, high-potential development, and career pathing.
Oversee and manage flagship talent programs such as the Maritime Executive Trainee Program, Ocean Talent Programme, Fresh Graduate Executive Program, and other equivalent initiatives.
Promote innovation in learning through the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
Drive the use of learning analytics to measure impact, improve effectiveness, and inform decision-making.
Partner with business leaders to identify critical skills and capabilities needed for future success.
Collaborate with HR and business stakeholders to ensure learning initiatives are integrated with performance and talent strategies.

Demonstrated impact of talent programs on leadership pipeline strength, employee engagement, and internal mobility.
Effective execution and continuous improvement of flagship talent programs, aligned with business needs and future workforce requirements.
Adoption and integration of innovative learning technologies and methodologies across the organization.
Data-driven insights and reporting on learning effectiveness, engagement, and return on investment (ROI).
Identification and development of critical skills and capabilities in alignment with strategic workforce planning.
Seamless integration of learning and talent initiatives with broader HR and business performance strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Fluent level of both spoken and written English. First-rate communication and presentation skills. Excellent in facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
8+ years of experience in talent development, learning, or organizational development, with at least 3 years in a regional / global role.
Broad knowledge and work experience within Human Resource Management. Strong expertise in learning strategy, instructional design, and digital learning platforms. Experience in leading global talent initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong business acumen and international experience at management level. Strong interpersonal skills - ability to get along with diverse personalities and cultures.
A curious mindset, to think innovatively and rationally about concerns and produce creative solutions. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and employee development.
Proficient IT skills. The ability to analyse and review HR data to identify trends. Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive learning outcomes. Structured, pragmatic, and well organized.
Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
