Job summary

BD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee general ledger activities, close processes, and financial controls across regional operations.

You will manage outsourced providers, drive SOX/compliance, and partner with global finance teams to standardize processes and implement automation.

Candidates should have 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, CPA/CA/ACCA/CIMA, SAP and BlackLine familiarity, and strong leadership across multi-national teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
• Review and approve journal entries including accruals, reclasses, payroll, stock compensation, and postings.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for timely financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal controls.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Drive analysis and remediation of aged items and abnormal balances.
• Monitor and manage accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and other key accounts.
• Prepare and review quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis.
• Ensure SOX compliance and act as primary contact for audits.
• Partner with auditors and stakeholders to address findings and strengthen controls.
• Maintain governance framework across accounting processes.
• Lead outsourced accounting providers to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and drive improvements.
• Provide leadership and coaching to accounting teams and BPO partners.
• Collaborate with Regional Shared Operations, Corporate Finance, and other teams.
• Guide accounting for multiple legal entities and regional operations.
• Communicate financial updates to senior leadership.
• Drive standardization and automation across ERP platforms and regions.
• Support finance transformation, acquisitions, system implementations, and integrations.
• Maintain audit-ready process documentation and SOPs.
• Lead accounting-related projects and strategic initiatives.
