Job Description

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Reporting to: Global Finance Improvement Senior Manager

Overview: Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you will be an important member of the KL-based finance team with a global remit within Global Finance. Your role involves supporting end-to-end processes of assigned accounts, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness. You will apply deep process expertise to develop, maintain, and improve processes, while also supporting us in enhancing quality through performance evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and Manage Opportunities: Prioritize and manage opportunities to improve productivity and Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance.
  • Implement Innovation Projects: Improve innovation and transformation projects through the operational excellence agenda.
  • Improve Metrics: Enhance metrics related to the balanced scorecard to evaluate performance and reduce variability/defects in critical business processes.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work with global teams and company partners to implement best practices, supporting the deployment of global initiatives and programs in assigned accounts.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Global Finance Services (GFS).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive EmPower Adoption: Lead the delivery and adoption of EmPower - Continuous Process Improvement within global and regional Finance Service Centres, collaborating closely with Global and Regional Finance EmPower Leads.
  • Governance and Control: Ensure governance and control over Finance Process Excellence requests, including monitoring, tracking, status reporting, progress, benefits delivered, and other measurements. Manage the Global Finance Process Excellence pipeline.
  • Review and Initiate Improvements: Review all Global Finance Process Excellence requests, initiate EmPower workshops and projects to improve processes before further automation, determine the most appropriate automation solutions (Oracle CR, RPA...), and route requests to relevant teams for development/delivery. Maintain oversight on status and progress across development teams.
  • Provide Coaching: Offer coaching and support for finance and non-finance individuals to complete Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green/Black Belt certification following initial training.
  • Lead Improvement Sessions: Lead/support EmPower coaches in conducting bubble-up sessions, workshops, and Kaizen/Lean Six Sigma projects to identify, and deliver finance process improvements.
  • Coordinate Cross-Functionally: Work cross-functionally and with GDC EmPower resources to ensure full consideration of end-to-end processes where parts are performed outside of finance.
  • Engage with Finance Teams: Engage with different finance teams, participate in team huddles and problem-solving sessions to understand requirements, identify opportunities for EmPower process improvements, and promote bubble-up sessions and workshops.
  • Collaborate with Automation Team: Work with the Automation team to provide the best solution plan based on process improvement and value analysis.
  • Support Global Projects: Lead or support Global Finance projects to ensure optimization, standardization, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Update Training Materials: Coordinate with GDC EmPower resources to ensure understanding and standardization of EmPower training materials, terminology, methodology, and approach.
  • Promote EmPower Culture: Advocate and promote the EmPower culture across all finance teams, encouraging employee-led change and the use of EmPower tools to improve and increase employee enablement.
Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Certified or Black Belt certified / practitioner
  • At least 5 years' experience and strong track record in continuous improvement
  • Strong experience / strength in stakeholder management – engaging with multifunctional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with RPA/automation tools and/or good understanding of guidelines and limitations
  • Experience in change management including governance, controls and compliance and communication
  • Experience in use of data analytics and interpretation to identify, measure and priorities process improvement opportunities
