Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Procurement professional to drive electro-mechanical category strategy globally. You will build a strong supplier base, lead cross-functional teams, and negotiate strategic contracts while managing risk and ensuring supply continuity.

You will analyze market dynamics, lead supplier performance initiatives, and deliver cost and quality improvements across PCB, laminates, cables, connectors, and related components. Location: Penang, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Business/Supply Chain/Procurement or related discipline.
• 10+ years relevant work experience with minimum 5-7 years in procurement/Product/Project management or technical experience in Hardware/Software Product Development.
• Excellent contract negotiations skills and understanding of key commercial terms and conditions.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at various levels of management including internal and external Executive levels.
• Ability to lead with personal integrity and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience managing complex strategic sourcing projects.
• Direct experience as a Procurement category manager managing complex electro-mechanical components (e.g. PCB, Laminates, cables, connectors, Flex) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive global cross-functional team in developing and executing a cohesive category strategy in the electro-Mechanical space.
• Analyze market trends and business environment and long term commercial strategic direction.
• Lead supplier negotiations within a framework of a strategic contractual relationship; manage NDAs and supplier agreements.
• Manage overall supplier relationships including performance, capability development, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
• Identify cost savings through negotiations, events, and alternate sourcing to achieve cost reduction goals.
• Ensure components supply assurance by maintaining the appropriate Preferred Manufacturer List with the right industry manufacturing technology capability and business setup scale.
• Monitor current commodity market conditions to identify potential supply challenges and develop a supply continuity plan.
• Lead to identify and drive strategic projects which improve cost, quality and delivery to Motorola; include supplier footprint expansion and roadmap alignment.
