Job Description

The position’s purpose comprises the key objectives for the position, and functions that this position is responsible for on a day-to-day basis.

The main purpose of this position is to serve the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by leading all sales activities for the hotel, achieving revenue and profit targets, and growing and developing a loyal customer base on behalf of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with the Regional Director of Sales to provide sales and marketing services to all Minor Hotels properties within the assigned sales territory of Singapore & Malaysia.
  2. Provide monthly market intelligence on competition, travel trade market trends, and industry updates.
  3. Submit and complete monthly sales activity plans.
  4. Segment clientele for sales efforts, focusing on MICE for corporate and incentive groups, Key Corporate clients in Singapore, and relevant airlines as determined by the Regional Director of Global.
  5. Conduct sales activities in the assigned territory by providing contacts, prospect lists, and necessary office facilities and technical equipment.
  6. Establish new client contacts and develop detailed revenue potential from these accounts.
  7. Participate in client familiarization trips, site inspections, sales trips, and roadshows to meet sales targets.
  8. Provide monthly reports on sales activities and business trends.
  9. Handle sales events, exhibitions, and trips within budget for the designated market.
  10. Introduce and update key travel agents through joint and sole sales calls.
  11. Co-host meetings with trade partners to promote Minor Hotels to key customers.
  12. Arrange educational visits for travel agents, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  13. Manage inquiries from trade, consumer, and media from the designated territory.
  14. Ensure hotels are featured on major websites and reservation systems relevant to the brand.
  15. Review account production against potential contracts regularly.
  16. Position the MHG brand effectively within the marketplace.
  17. Maintain accurate business results reporting and action plans.
  18. Stay informed about all MHG products, services, promotions, and industry trends.
  19. Create packages and promotions during low occupancy periods.
  20. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Minor Hotels products and services.
  21. Maintain knowledge of sales support tools, including sales software, PMS, and Microsoft Office.
  22. Process administrative work efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in global sales within the Singapore and Malaysia markets, preferably with a key luxury hotel operator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the local and international market and competitors.
  • Self-motivated, a team player, and able to work under pressure.
