Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a multinational manufacturer in finding a Global Director of IT to lead the enterprise IT strategy from Bayan Lepas. The role focuses on defining the long-term technology roadmap and driving digital transformation across manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate functions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years IT experience with leadership of regional or global IT functions.
• Proven track record defining and executing enterprise-wide IT strategies.
• Extensive experience managing infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise apps.
• Experience leading large-scale IT transformation and digitalisation programmes.
• Strong governance, risk, compliance and audit understanding.

Job Description

• Oversee enterprise applications including ERP, analytics, CRM, HR systems, content management, and integration platforms.
• Define and execute the global IT strategy and long-term technology roadmap aligned to business objectives.
• Drive technology investments that support growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation.
• Serve as the primary technology advisor to executive leadership and key business stakeholders.
• Lead IT governance, enterprise architecture, and strategic planning activities.
• Ensure the availability, resilience, security, and performance of global IT infrastructure and services.
• Oversee cloud platforms, networks, workplace technologies, cybersecurity controls, and data centre environments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT operations and service delivery.
• Lead infrastructure modernisation and technology lifecycle management programmes.
• Ensure manufacturing and production support systems effectively enable operational performance.
• Manage enterprise technology projects and transformation initiatives from planning through execution.
• Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and partner performance management.
• Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and technology investments to maximise business value.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and industry best practices.
• Build, develop, and lead geographically dispersed teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Global Director should have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including leadership of regional or global IT functions.
• Strong experience within manufacturing, industrial, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, or similar environments.
• Proven track record defining and executing enterprise-wide IT strategies.
• Extensive experience managing infrastructure, cloud environments, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale IT transformation and digitalisation programmes.
• Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers, technology vendors, and complex partner ecosystems.
• Strong financial acumen with budget ownership and technology investment management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage executive leadership and business teams.
• Proven people leadership experience managing high-performing regional or global teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience in M&A, carve-outs, divestments, or large-scale transformation initiatives will be an added advantage.
• ITIL or relevant technology leadership certifications are highly desirable.
