Job summary

Orsted Germany database operations role focuses on the operations and maintenance of our database systems, delivering secure and robust platforms to application teams. You will be part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Support Product team, collaborating with IT colleagues across the globe to design, implement, operate and maintain business-critical database systems.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of database systems and management tools.
• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms Azure and AWS (Azure‑SQL, Azure‑PostgreSQL, RDS‑Oracle, RDS‑PostgreSQL, RDS‑MSSQL).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills and customer interaction and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations and maintenance of our database systems, delivering secure and robust platforms to application teams.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues across the globe to design, plan, implement, operate, and maintain business-critical database systems.
• Engage with stakeholders across a diverse culture to deliver solutions to business needs.
• Support growth of the organisation by aligning team objectives with IT goals.
• Handle incidents and requests related to availability, performance, backups and restores, and database access.
• Deploy database baselines and secure configurations to meet business requirements.
• Perform lifecycle management to keep databases on supported, secure versions.
• Ensure database assets comply with security policies by applying updates and patches and addressing vulnerabilities.
