Job Summary

We are looking for an Assistant Manager, GL Reporting to join our finance team at MR DIY HQ. This role is responsible for overseeing General Ledger (GL) reporting, preparing monthly management reports, conducting variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, ideally with experience in both audit and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the financial reporting team in monthly closing and reporting for all group entities.
  • Assist in consolidating and preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure timely submission and compliance with relevant standards such as IFRS, Companies Act, and Bursa requirements.
  • Assist in preparing and updating forecasts and budgets on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Ensure the team's accurate and timely delivery of general accounting, reporting, fixed assets, and statutory reporting (including report preparation and reconciliation).
  • Manage and coordinate reconciliation of systems to investigate and correct discrepancies or variations.
  • Liaise with tax agents, auditors, company secretaries, bankers, lawyers, and authorities on related matters.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects or assignments as directed by superiors.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus).
  • At least 5 years of experience in GL reporting, financial accounting, or auditing, with a mix of audit (Big 4 or equivalent) and commercial experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in monthly management reporting, financial analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
