A prominent company in Malaysia is seeking a talented financial leader with over 10 years of experience to oversee month-end close, reporting, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role focuses on fostering team performance and ensuring compliance with financial standards in a shared service setting.

Lead and supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual month-end close, reconciliation, forecasting, target planning, fixed asset, and financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and achieve KPI metrics for all entities within SSC scope in timeliness and accuracy aspects
Review processing in compliance with company policies and accounting standards, enhance internal controls and compliance to ensure efficient, standardized, and scalable financial operations
Review and validate financial accounting reports and balance sheet reconciliations, provide variance analysis, and highlight critical issues to management for timely resolution on healthy financial reporting
Resolve discrepancies or issues that arise during the closing process and ensure system integrity
Organize post-closing required reporting to ensure a healthy financial status
Monitor and report on closing process metrics to improve efficiency and effectiveness by performing root cause analysis
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for closing, fixed asset, and forecast/ planning processes, automation opportunities, support system upgrades, and implement SOP updates to improve productivity
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the service satisfaction level improves and is maintained
Collaborate and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless closing process and shared service operations
Foster a coaching leadership style, focus on employee development, motivation, and succession planning to maintain high performance standards, and a supportive work environment
Job Requirement
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, ACCA/ CIMA/ CPA, or equivalent qualification
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing GL or financial close
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control
Experience in a shared service environment and a multinational corporate setting is highly preferred
Proficiency in the SAP Hana system and MS Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proven process improvement initiatives implementation
Experience in process and system transition will be an added advantage
