Working Hours: 2.00PM – 11.00PM / 3.00 PM -12.00 AM

As a General Ledger Accountant supporting the Europe region, you will be accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial results—not just transactional processing. You will take ownership of the numbers, ensuring they reflect the true financial position of the business. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate across functions including Compliance, Tax, Statutory, and the broader Kerry Financial Services GBS organization.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver accurate and timely financial close activities (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in line with the close calendar
• Take full responsibility for the integrity of general ledger balances, ensuring they are substantiated and aligned with business performance.
• Prepare and review journal entries for accruals, prepayments, reclasses, and other adjustments with a focus on accuracy and business relevance.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, proactively resolving discrepancies and identifying risks or opportunities.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances, trends, and key drivers.
• Collaborate with business partners to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and reflect operational reality.
• Support intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations, settlements, and issue resolution.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audits, providing clear documentation and explanations.
• Drive continuous improvement in GL processes, controls, and reporting quality.
• Contribute to system enhancements, testing, and process documentation to support operational excellence.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience with exposure to working in Shared Services environment.
• Strong SAP knowledge is a must.
• Experience in Financial Accounting, with demonstrated ownership of general ledger responsibilities.
• General Ledger experience such as accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Intercompany Accounting and Audit Support (Internal and External) is an added advantage.
• Master Data Management (MDM) knowledge
