Job summary

EY Malaysia's GFS - Technology Consulting - Platforms (Core Insurance) seeks an experienced Senior Manager/Director to lead end-to-end core system implementations within insurance and financial services. You will manage transformation across policy admin, claims, billing, underwriting and servicing platforms.

This role requires strong leadership, executive communication and proven agile delivery, enterprise architecture, risk management, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years (Senior Manager) or 15+ years (Director) in technology consulting, business transformation or enterprise system implementation.
• Proven experience leading core system implementation programs in Insurance or Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end core system implementation programs within insurance and financial services.
• Manage transformation initiatives across policy admin, claims, billing, underwriting, and servicing platforms.
• Establish governance, controls, risk management and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
• Define operating models, roadmaps and implementation strategies with business and tech.
• Lead vendor selection, system evaluation and oversight activities.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams including analysts, architects, developers, testers and vendors.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, resource management and delivery execution.
• Identify risks and implement proactive mitigations; support business development and client engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end core system implementation programs within the insurance and financial services sector.
• Manage complex transformation initiatives, including policy administration, claims, billing, underwriting, and customer servicing platforms.
• Drive business and IT alignment to ensure successful delivery of transformation objectives.
• Establish program governance, project controls, risk management, and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
• Work with business and technology stakeholders to define target operating models, transformation roadmaps, and implementation strategies.
• Lead vendor selection, system evaluation, and implementation oversight activities.
• Manage multi-functional teams comprising business analysts, solution architects, developers, testing teams, and third-party vendors.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, resource management, and delivery execution.
• Identify project risks and issues and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
• Support business development activities, including proposal development, client presentations, and pursuit opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers.
• Coach and mentor consulting team members while contributing to practice growth and capability development.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years (Senior Manager) or 15+ years (Director) of experience in technology consulting, business transformation, or enterprise system implementation.
• Proven experience leading Core System Implementation programs within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
• Experience delivering one or more of the following:
• Policy Administration System Implementation
• Claims Transformation Programs
• Billing and Collection System Implementation
• Customer & Digital Platform Transformation
• Demonstrated success managing large transformation programs with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
• Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle, agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Experience engaging with executive stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, COOs, and business leaders.
• Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful outcomes.
