Job Duties
  1. Under broad direction, a Geoscientist, Assoc II applies advanced knowledge gained via a STEM degree and internal training to perform detailed analyses of sensor data from hydrocarbon reservoirs, including production, nuclear spectroscopy, acoustics, and electromagnetics.
  2. The analyses involve interpreting algorithms and workflows that translate measured data into hydrocarbon reservoir rock and fluid properties.
  3. The Geoscientist, Assoc II compiles analyses and findings into reports for oil and gas company customers.
  4. They select parameters for analyses and assess data quality issues, exercising discretion in their choices.
  5. Their customers include geoscientists (petrophysicists, geologists, geophysicists) and engineers (reservoir, completion, and production engineers) who use these analyses to make reservoir development decisions.
  6. They analyze data from multiple sensor types and develop skills for integrated sensor interpretation.
  7. They participate in customer reviews of analyses and findings and may be involved in business development activities.
  8. Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills are essential.
  9. They plan and manage their own time to fulfill job responsibilities.
  10. A bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline is required; a graduate degree and at least 1 year of experience are preferred.
