Overview

Our Client:

We are partnering with a Malaysian Corporation that specializes in manufacturing of Pressure Vessels. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a General Manager (Production) as part of their strategic growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct the full lifecycle of production – from engineering design and procurement to fabrication, testing, and client handover.
• Drive operational excellence through implementation of best practices in quality, efficiency, and safety compliance (based on relevant international and local standards).
• Oversee technical design reviews, project costing, resource allocation, and schedule adherence.
• Build cross-functional collaboration between engineering, production, QA/QC, and commercial teams to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Lead and mentor mid-level managers, supervisors, and shop-floor teams ranging from 40 to 60 personnel.
• Monitor and control project expenses, including labor and materials, while optimizing resource utilization.
• Support commercial teams during tender submissions, technical proposals, and client presentations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical equipment or heavy fabrication, with at least 6 years in a senior production leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in managing operations within pressure-rated product manufacturing (or equivalent heavy industrial sectors).
• Deep familiarity with fabrication techniques involving machining centers, welding processes, and associated tooling.
• Working knowledge of internationally recognized mechanical design and safety standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, or equivalent).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and people management skills.
