About the role

The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager of Finance and General Affairs to join our team. This is a contract role based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic and operational success of this leading industry organization.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee the day-to-day financial management and accounting operations of MPOC
2. Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance
3. Manage the Organization's budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
4. Provide financial analysis and advice to the Management and the Board to support strategic decision-making
5. Manage the general administrative functions of the Organization, including facilities and IT
6. Supervise and mentor a team of Finance, Administration, IT, and support staff
7. Represent MPOC in external meetings and engagements as required

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 8 years of experience in a Senior Finance or General Management role, preferably within the palm oil or related industry
2. Strong technical skills in financial management, accounting, budgeting, and reporting
3. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities
4. Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve business objectives
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
6. Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7. Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
