Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides strategic leadership and direction in financial management, planning, reporting, procurement, and governance to support SIDC’s operational and strategic objectives. The incumbent ensures financial sustainability, compliance with statutory and internal requirements, effective procurement management, and efficient financial stewardship across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership
Lead the Finance Department to deliver accurate, timely, and reliable financial reports, analysis, and insights that support informed decision-making by Management and the Board. - Budgeting and Financial Planning
Oversee the preparation of the annual business plan and budget, and ensure monthly monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of financial performance against approved targets. - Governance, Statutory Audit and Compliance
Ensure adherence to Financial Reporting Standards, internal control policies, and statutory requirements.
Oversee year-end statutory audits, internal audits, and the timely submission of financial statements in accordance with regulatory and Board requirements. - Tax and Financial Administration
Manage tax planning, compliance, and reporting to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations.
Oversee the proper administration of financial operations including accounting, payments, and control systems to safeguard SIDC’s assets and financial integrity. - Procurement and Cost Management
Oversee SIDC’s procurement function to ensure transparent, efficient, and policy-compliant procurement processes. - Financial Insights and Strategic Support
Provide timely, data-driven insights and recommendations to support the CEO and senior management in enhancing organisational performance, financial sustainability, and resource allocation. - Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Procurement teams to foster professionalism, capability, and accountability, ensuring effective succession planning and business continuity.
- Collaborate with other department on cross-functional initiatives and undertake ad-hoc assignments as directed by the CEO to support SIDC’s strategic and operational objectives and KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree/Master in Accounting and Finance from recognized institution.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA will be an added advantage
Other General Requirements
- 8 years working experience in financial & management accounting with 3 years supervisory role in related area.
- Strong foundation in financial and management accounting.
- Experience in contributing to organisational improvement or workforce optimisation initiatives within a corporate, regulatory, or learning environment would be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a lean organisation with cross-functional responsibilities.
