ABOUT THE JOB

Responsible for managing and coordinating TM’s internal and external communications across key areas such as Integrated Events Management, Internal Communications, Programmes, and Publications.

The role ensures that messaging is consistent, timely, and relevant to all stakeholders, while leading corporate events and internal communication initiatives that support TM’s vision to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030 and position Malaysia as a regional digital hub.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the team to draft press releases, newsletters, various external and internal correspondence on comprehensive communication strategies aligned with TM’s business priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of go-to-market strategies and solutions for prioritised categories.
  • Build a digital strategy in coordination with the organisation’s intranet team, including content creation for internal social media platforms.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and successfully pitch stories to trade and business-focused media and manage incoming media inquiries.
  • Develop annual and as-needed communications strategies and plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Provide strategic counsel and superior “client service” to senior leaders.
  • Mitigate reputational issues through strategic communications.
  • Implement communication strategies to support and advance strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with issues management response teams to monitor and respond to reputational risks.
  • Amplify sustainability narratives through multi-channel communication platforms and targeted media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with relevant divisions to strengthen TM’s advocacy on ESG and sustainability initiatives.

MUST HAVE

  • A relevant degree such as Bachelors’ or Masters’ in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Business, Education, or Political Science.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant areas
  • Vast experience in telecommunications industry with excellent conceptual knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory development, both in the Malaysian and global environment particularly expertise in the areas of policy making, regulatory industry liberalisation, technical, access and competition.
