Job description

General Manager, Business Development (Healthcare)

Lead the development and execution of Group-wide, Business Unit-wide, regional, country, channel, and product expansion strategies. Establish long-term relationships with potential key clients and customers in line with business objectives.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate and manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocations to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  2. Develop and execute expansion strategies to achieve short- and long-term business goals.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and manage business opportunities and leads, especially complex cases, contributing to financial objectives.
  4. Oversee market research and business analyses, evaluate findings, and recommend strategic actions.
  5. Lead pricing and contract negotiations with potential clients, advise on upselling, and oversee contract renegotiations.
  6. Improve Business Development processes and promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance effectiveness.
  7. Manage workforce capability and client/customer data management activities.
  8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on deal negotiations and contract finalization.
  9. Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients/customers to expand business opportunities.
  10. Set team goals, communicate expectations clearly, and drive team learning and development.
  11. Promote continuous learning and self-improvement within the Business Development area.

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Experience in applying business development principles for medium to large companies in relevant industries.
  2. Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  3. Proven client and customer account management skills.
  4. Ability to manage global, regional, and country-level projects.
  5. Proficiency in office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  6. Respect for cultural sensitivities, especially in cross-cultural interactions.

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent is advantageous.
  3. Additional technical qualifications relevant to the industry (e.g., engineering, medical devices) are considered.

Work Experience:

  1. 8-10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within a similar industry.
  2. At least 8 years in a managerial role.
