General Manager, Business Development (Healthcare)
Lead the development and execution of Group-wide, Business Unit-wide, regional, country, channel, and product expansion strategies. Establish long-term relationships with potential key clients and customers in line with business objectives.
General Responsibilities:
- Formulate and manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocations to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Develop and execute expansion strategies to achieve short- and long-term business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage business opportunities and leads, especially complex cases, contributing to financial objectives.
- Oversee market research and business analyses, evaluate findings, and recommend strategic actions.
- Lead pricing and contract negotiations with potential clients, advise on upselling, and oversee contract renegotiations.
- Improve Business Development processes and promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance effectiveness.
- Manage workforce capability and client/customer data management activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on deal negotiations and contract finalization.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients/customers to expand business opportunities.
- Set team goals, communicate expectations clearly, and drive team learning and development.
- Promote continuous learning and self-improvement within the Business Development area.
Functional Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in applying business development principles for medium to large companies in relevant industries.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Proven client and customer account management skills.
- Ability to manage global, regional, and country-level projects.
- Proficiency in office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Respect for cultural sensitivities, especially in cross-cultural interactions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Marketing, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent is advantageous.
- Additional technical qualifications relevant to the industry (e.g., engineering, medical devices) are considered.
Work Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within a similar industry.
- At least 8 years in a managerial role.
