General Manager (Agriculture, Hospitality & Tourism)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our durian plantation business. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for aligning daily operations with strategic goals, optimizing productivity across agriculture and construction-related functions, and driving sustainable growth. This role acts as the primary liaison between the CEO and operational teams, ensuring effective execution of company policies, projects, and long-term objectives.

A successful candidate will bring strong business acumen, proven leadership skills, and ideally, experience in agribusiness or plantation management. Passion for agriculture and an appreciation of the durian industry is a significant advantage.

Job Duties

Oversee and manage day-to-day operations across multiple departments, ensuring effective coordination, timely execution, and operational excellence.

Take full ownership of the company’s P&L, developing and implementing business plans that support long-term profitability and strategic goals.

Lead and build high-performing teams through effective recruitment, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.

Drive agricultural efficiency by working closely with plantation teams to improve yield, quality control, and sustainability practices.

Collaborate with construction teams and external stakeholders in planning and executing infrastructure projects related to plantation operations.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients, government agencies, and industry partners.

Ensure full compliance with all local and national regulations, including agricultural, labor, and environmental standards.

Monitor industry trends and initiate innovation efforts that improve productivity, reduce costs, or enhance product quality.

Deliver regular operational and financial reports to the CEO, offering insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Job Requirement Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Plantation Management, or related field (preferred).

Proven experience in a senior operational or general management role; experience in the agriculture or durian plantation sector is highly desirable.

Experience or knowledge in agriculture, construction, hospitality (Airbnb), or food service (cafe) will be an added advantage.

Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.

Proficient in project management with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Solid financial acumen, including budget management and business planning.

Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and management systems.

Strong communication skills in English, Malay, and Mandarin—both written and verbal. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Willingness to travel or be based on-site as needed.
