A leading company in recruitment services is seeking a General Manager for its plant operations in Negeri Sembilan. The candidate will oversee production, quality assurance, and team performance while ensuring profitability through operational efficiencies. Ideal applicants will possess extensive leadership experience and a strong educational background in business.
Lead and manage all areas of plant operations including production, purchasing, scheduling, warehousing, shipping/receiving, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure alignment with company goals.
Take full accountability for the plant’s profitability by driving operational efficiency, revenue growth, and cost control.
Develop and implement annual manufacturing plans and policy guidelines to support key performance areas and ensure ongoing monitoring of progress.
Continuously improve manufacturing performance by optimizing machine efficiency, material usage, labor productivity, and overhead cost management against budget targets.
Implement and maintain a Plant Performance Tracking System incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs) across manufacturing, engineering, QA, manpower, and financial metrics.
Manage outsourced transportation services within approved budget levels while ensuring reliability and cost-efficiency.
Build and maintain a high-performance team culture through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management strategies.
Ensure timely submission of reports and data to corporate stakeholders, including daily, weekly, and monthly performance updates.
Uphold and enforce company policies related to safety, quality, HR, finance, and operational compliance across the plant.
Oversee facility maintenance and ensure all equipment is functioning properly and maintained regularly by the technical team.
Maintain compliance with quality standards and audit requirements, ensuring all documentation is accurate and current.
Monitor and manage labor and operational costs, aligning with approved budgets and long-term business objectives.
Collaborate with HR to attract, retain, and develop talent, and drive employee engagement and performance.
Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; MBA from a top-tier institution is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a leadership or operational role.
Proven ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
Demonstrated strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and critical-thinking abilities.
High level of self-management, self-awareness, and organizational skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
Ability to develop and lead large executive teams with professionalism and integrity.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with a collaborative approach.
Proficient in both English and Malay.
Willing to work in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
