About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands' team and operations. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving the business towards continued growth and success. This is a contract role based in the beautiful Cameron Highlands region of Pahang.

What you'll be doing

  1. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all hotel operations, including rooms, food and beverage, sales and marketing, and finance.
  2. Develop and implement effective business strategies to maximise profitability, occupancy, and guest satisfaction.
  3. Manage and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and the local community.
  6. Analyse financial and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Represent the hotel at industry events and foster a positive brand image in the local market.

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience (7+ years) in a General Manager or similar senior leadership role within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  2. Proven track record of successfully managing hotel operations and driving business growth.
  3. Strong financial acumen and the ability to develop and implement effective budgeting and cost-control measures.
  4. Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  5. Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to identify and meet the needs of diverse guest demographics.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  7. Thorough understanding of the hotel industry, including trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  8. Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
