Job summary

A leading company in the logistics sector is seeking a Tax Specialist to ensure tax compliance and manage complex tax matters in the Southeast Asia region. The role involves preparing corporate tax filings, supporting audits, and contributing to process improvements. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of corporate income tax experience and a finance or accounting degree, as well as strong knowledge in Indirect Tax and Transfer Pricing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate income tax with a focus on Indirect Tax.
  • Minimum 5 years of tax experience, ideally with knowledge in Transfer Pricing.
  • Strong background in tax filings and compliance.

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to oversee tax compliance, including preparing, validating, and filing direct and indirect tax returns, supporting tax audits, and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Function and duties:

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensuring timely and accurate tax filings
  • Preparing and/or reviewing Corporate income tax filings – CIT, freight tax, carrier tax, foreign contractor tax, etc.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing Indirect tax filings – VAT/GST, Sales Tax, or withholding tax, etc.
  • Supporting tax planning, tax estimates/revisions, tax installments/payments, and tax provisions
  • Ensuring tax returns of ASE are filed in accordance with tax authorities
  • Managing Tax Audits, including preparation of schedules, follow-up with stakeholders, and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing Quarterly Tax Risk Reports and providing regular updates to management on tax developments
  • Supporting the global tax team on Transfer Pricing policies
  • Ensuring Transfer Pricing documentation is up to date
  • Supporting Corporate Tax in HQ by implementing tax policies and strategies
  • Staying up to date on all tax regulations for SEA countries and assessing their impact on the business
  • Acting as the POE, coordinating among HQ, Region, Area, QSC, and Tax consultants
  • Preparing monthly management reports, expenditure analysis, and ad hoc reports
  • Preparing financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Ensuring meeting closing and reporting deadlines with accuracy and timeliness

Internal Control Checklist (ICCL)

  • Preparing and coordinating the monthly internal control checklist for sign-off
  • Implementing corrective measures to tighten internal controls

Process improvement and automation

  • Leading projects for simplification, streamlining, and automation
  • Championing process improvements

Other responsibilities:

  • Performing any other projects/tasks assigned by the team leader

Qualifications and Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate income tax experience, with preferred background in Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing, and/or Cross-Border Transactions
