In this role, you’re expected to:Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Fund Accounting Analyst (Transaction Control & Ledger Booking) is an entry-level position within the Fund Services team responsible for the accurate accounting treatment, journal entry posting, and ledger reconciliation of all investment transactions across client fund portfolios. Working directly within the Fund Accounting environment, this role ensures that all trade activities, corporate events, cash flows, and fees are correctly recorded in the general ledger and sub-ledgers to support timely and accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) valuations.We welcome fresh graduates as well as candidates with 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in finance, general accounting, audit, or financial operations who have a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and an active interest in leveraging modern digital tools, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance accounting workflows. **General Ledger Booking & Journal Entries:*** + Perform and verify daily ledger entries for buy/sell trades, security settlements, FX conversions, collateral movements, and subscription/redemption cash flows. + Post accounting journal adjustments for fund expenses, management fees, interest accruals, dividend receivables, and amortization of premiums/discounts. + Maintain the integrity of fund sub-ledgers and ensure complete alignment with the master general ledger.**Accounting Exception Monitoring & Control:*** + Actively monitor accounting interface queues, unposted journal batches, and ledger booking suspense accounts. + Review and analyze automated booking exceptions, failed ledger postings, and invalid accounting rules in the fund accounting system. + Apply corrective journal entries and adjustments to clear suspense balances and ledger errors prior to daily NAV valuation cut-offs.**Innovation, Digital Tools & AI Adoption:*** + Explore and utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, digital assistants, smart macros, and workflow automation to streamline repetitive journal entry bookings, variance analyses, and ledger reconciliation tasks. + Identify recurring accounting exception patterns and propose automated rule configurations to improve straight-through ledger posting.**Risk & Financial Controls:*** + Maintain rigorous accounting work papers, journal approval audit trails, and daily control sign-off documentation. + Ensure strict adherence to accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal financial controls to safeguard fund assets and regulatory reporting compliance.**Technical & Accounting Knowledge:*** Strong foundation in fundamental accounting principles (debits/credits, double-entry bookkeeping, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, and accrual accounting).* Familiarity with investment fund accounting concepts (NAV, realized/unrealized gains, income/expense accruals, ledger suspense accounts) is an advantage.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, basic financial formulas) and general MS Office applications.**Digital & AI Interest:*** Keen interest or curiosity in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI tools, and process automation to solve accounting problems and increase operational accuracy.* Fast learner with the aptitude to master proprietary fund accounting ledger systems.**Core Competencies**:* Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy in numerical and ledger data entry.* Strong analytical problem-solving skills to investigate ledger variances and out-of-balance entries.* Ability to work effectively within disciplined daily accounting and NAV deadlines.* Good written and verbal communication skills; collaborative team player.
