Functional Test Analyst | Quality Assurance

JOB SUMMARY

The position is responsible for developing and executing detailed test plans to ensure software applications meet specified requirements. This position evaluates test outcomes and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to address any functional issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create detailed functional test plans and strategies, covering all aspects of the testing process, including environment setup, data preparation, execution, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
2. Perform both manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets the specified requirements.
3. Analyze test results to identify any potential issues in the software and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
4. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA teams, to address functional issues and uphold the highest testing standards.
5. Record, track, and document outcomes of functional tests, and report findings to the development team and management.
6. Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
7. Configure and maintain the test environment including the data to ensure they are ready for testing.
8. Monitor the performance and stability of test environments and address any issues promptly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Malaysian citizen.
2. Pass Malay Language including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
3. Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field that is recognized by the government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.
4. Must have 3 to 7 years of experience in Functional/Automation Testing, Test Data Management, and Test Environment.
5. Experience in the banking industries is a plus.
6. Proven work experience as a Software Tester or in a similar role.
7. Experience in project management and QA methodology is an added advantage.
8. Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or other relevant functional testing certifications are beneficial.

Technical Skills:

1. Proficiency in functional testing tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, and Appium.
2. Familiarity with programming languages like SQL and Java.
3. Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
4. Experience in an IBM AS400/iSeries environment is a plus.

Analytical Skills:

1. Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze system specifications and identify potential issues.
2. Meticulous attention to detail in identifying and documenting software defects.
3. Proficiency in data analysis and generating actionable insights.

Soft Skills:

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Ability to work well in a team environment.
3. Adaptability to learn new tools and technologies.
