Job summary

Morgan Philips Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, deploy and maintain production software for operations in the automotive and mobility sector.

You will work hands-on with the Software Architect and Technical Lead, delivering end-to-end features and shaping reusable patterns for future SaaS products. The role requires ownership from requirements through to production, with mentoring responsibilities for junior developers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years building production web applications.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Solid PostgreSQL design, indexing and performance tuning.
• Experience with backend APIs, authentication and RBAC.
• Docker and Linux proficiency; cloud/deploy familiarity is a plus.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and workflow‑heavy software.
• Ownership of features from requirements to production.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end features across frontend, backend, database and APIs.
• Implement complex workflows with state transitions, approvals and rules.
• Integrate with government systems, banks and third‑party APIs.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas and optimize queries with Prisma.
• Manage Docker deployments, monitoring and troubleshooting in production.

Job description

Growing technology company building operations software for the automotive and mobility sector, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work closely with their Software Architect & Technical Lead.

This is a hands-on role. You'll design, build, test, deploy and maintain production software that runs real-world operations, not just tickets and CRUD screens.

What you'll work on

• End-to-end features across frontend, backend, database and APIs
• Complex workflows: state transitions, approvals, validations and business rules
• Integrations with government systems, banks, payment providers and third-party APIs, including webhooks, retries and data consistency
• PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning with Prisma
• Dockerised deployments, monitoring and production troubleshooting on Linux
• Shaping reusable engineering patterns across future SaaS products, and mentoring junior developers

What you'll bring

• 5+ years building production web applications
• Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js (App Router)
• Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, indexes, migrations, query performance
• Backend APIs, authentication, authorisation and RBAC
• Docker and solid Linux skills
• Experience with third-party integrations and workflow-heavy business software
• Ownership of features from requirements through to production
• Bonus: hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex), with the judgment to review and own the output
