Job summary

YTL Sea Digital Bank Project is seeking a capable Fullstack Engineer to own end-to-end features across frontend and backend systems. You will work with React and TypeScript on the frontend, and NestJS or Spring Boot on the backend, delivering scalable, secure services.

In addition to building robust APIs, you will leverage AI-assisted coding tools, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD quality gates. A collaborative, fast-moving fintech environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/SE or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on full-stack development experience.
• Proficient with React, NestJS, and Spring Boot in production.
• Familiar with AI-assisted coding tools and practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, and container orchestration basics.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORM-based data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and deliver end-to-end full-stack features.

About the Role:

Independently designing and delivering end-to-endfullstackfeatures within the Enterprise Engineering function of our digital bankingprogramme.

Contributing to engineering quality, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement across frontend and backend systems.

What You’ll Do:

Frontend Development:

• Design and deliver React, Vuefeatures independently using TypeScript, including state management (Redux / Context API), routing, and responsive UI implementation.
• Build reusable, well-tested React components aligned to the digital banking platform's design system and accessibility standards.
• Develop andmaintainRESTful APIs usingNestJS(TypeScript) and/orSpring Boot (Java).
• Implement service-layer business logic, input validation, error handling, and authentication /authorisationflows.
• Design and manage data models usingTypeORMor Hibernate, including writing and managing database migrations.

AI Coding Tools:

• Leverage AI coding tools (e.g.ILMU, Claude,GitHub Copilot)for feature development, unit test generation, and code reviewassistance.
• Apply critical engineering judgement tovalidate, refine, and take full ownership of AI-generated code before integration.

Testing & Quality:

• Achieve meaningful unit and integration test coverage across assigned frontend and backend components.
• Participate actively in peer code reviews, providing and receiving constructive technical feedback.
• Contribute to CI/CD quality gates by ensuring code passes automated test suites beforemerging.

System Integration:

• Integrate with internal and third-party services including payment gateways, identity providers, and core banking APIs.
• Write andmaintainintegration tests tovalidateservice contracts and end-to-end data flows.

CI/CD & DevOps:

• Manage own CI/CD pipeline contributions,configure build steps, run automated tests, and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
• Follow Git branching strategies and raise well-structured pull requests with clear context and test evidence.
• Work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and platform teams within Enterprise Engineering to clarify requirements and testing scope.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.
• Support onboarding of junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the team.

Documentation:

• Produce technical documentation for features, APIs, and data models to team standards.
• Maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and contribute to engineering runbooks.

What We’re Seeking:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a relatedfield;or equivalent work experience with relevant professional certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-onfull stackdevelopment experience delivering production-grade features on technology projects.
• Independently builds React applications,proficient with hooks, Context API, routing (React Router), and state management libraries.
• BuildNestJSor equivalentservices independently,proficient with dependency injection, guards, interceptors, middleware, andTypeORMintegration.
• Working knowledge inSpring Boot services,e.g.JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, and REST API design
• Productive user of at least one AI coding tool (e.g.ILMU, Claude,Cursor,GitHub Copilot); applies engineering judgement tovalidateAI-generated output.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL or MySQL and ORM-based datamodeling. Exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) is an advantage.
• Proficient in Jest /Supertest(Node/TypeScript) and/orJUnit / Mockito (Java) for unit and integration testing.
• Working knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Docker basics.
• Solid understanding of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies. Participates actively in sprint ceremonies.
• Good communicationand interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration within Enterprise Engineering.
• Familiarity with digitalbanking and/orfintechapplications is an advantage.
