GJBC Sdn Bhd is seeking a full-time fitness coach to guide client progress from intake through progression, ensuring proper technique and safe coaching. You will assess movement, coach with intent, and monitor outcomes in Malaysia.
Lead group classes, collaborate with on-site physios, and contribute to a supportive gym culture. A clear career ladder and ongoing education are provided.
You’re here to coach, properly. That means owning the full arc of a client’s progress, not just running them through a workout.
Assess before you programme. Run a thorough intake and movement screen with every new client. Draw on our in-house physios when needed, so every programme starts with a clear understanding of the person in front of you.
Coach, don't just supervise. Cue technique, make adjustments in real time, and teach clients the why behind what they’re doing. The goal isn't just a good session, it’s helping clients become better, more confident trainees.
Own progress and retention. Know whether your clients are getting better. Track the numbers that matter, keep programmes and coaching notes current, hold clients accountable, and adjust the plan when progress stalls.
Lead group classes to standard. A bigger room isn't an excuse for passive coaching. Scan the floor, cue individuals, manage regressions and progressions, and bring the energy that makes a room of twelve feel coached, not just supervised.
Coach the harder cases. Work alongside our in-house physios to coach injured, returning, older, and more complex clients safely and confidently. Know when to progress, when to modify, and when to bring a physio in.
Contribute beyond your sessions. This is a full-time coaching role, not a collection of PT hours. Take part in team meetings, case discussions, education, and gym initiatives, and step in where needed to make the overall client experience better.
Raise the floor. Share what works, learn from senior coaches and physios, give and receive feedback, and hold yourself and the team to a high coaching standard.
Certified personal trainer (ACE, NASM, ISSA, or equivalent)
Current CPR / first aid certification
1 to 2 years coaching experience
Confident teaching and leading group classes
Legally able to work in Malaysia
Conversational English; Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin a plus
Communicative: clear with clients and quick to speak up with the team
Team player: adds to the floor culture, supports other coaches, no solo territory
Coachable: takes feedback without ego and acts on it
Driven: owns their standards and follows through without being chased
Earn up to RM6,000 to RM10,000+, plus performance. Compensation is commission-based on coaching hours delivered, so your earnings scale directly with the hours and services you coach, not sales targets.
EPF and SOCSO contributions as per statutory requirements
A mentor from day one, plus weekly sessions with senior coaches and physios
In-house education and continuous learning through weekly lectures and practical sessions
A real career ladder (Junior, Senior, Lead) with defined criteria at each tier
Physio and rehab support on site, so you coach injured or returning clients safely instead of turning them away
A single premium location, so you build a book and a reputation instead of chasing scattered sites
Modern facility and equipment, so you’re not improvising around broken kit
