Private Advertiser in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Mathematics Teacher for ages 3 to 13. You start by teaching small groups and learning how the centre operates as you grow. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
The senior teacher role includes writing progress reports, handling parent communications, deciding levels for next terms, and arranging weekly rosters. Opportunity to oversee centre operations awaits high performers.
We are a math enrichment centre in Petaling Jaya. We have been running for 15 years and have close to 600 students, with a long waiting list. Our programs for ages 3 to 13 follow the Singapore math syllabus.
About the role and career path
We are looking for someone to grow into a senior teacher, and later to help run the centre's operations. This is not a tutor job. We have close to 600 students, and we want someone who wants to learn how a centre of this size is run, not only how to teach.
You start as a teacher. In your first year, you will build your teaching skills and show us how much you enjoy working with children. After that, how far and how fast you grow depends on your performance.
The role you are growing into is senior teacher. This is not the starting role. A senior teacher at our centre is able to:
Write students' progress reports.
Handle parent communication on simple matters.
Decide which level of our materials each student moves on to in the next term.
Arrange the weekly teachers' roster.
Those who show the ability can go on to oversee a centre's operations and manage programs.
What you will do when you start
Teach small classes of 1 teacher to 5 students, ages 3 to 13.
Guide students in solving problems using our own hands‑on materials.
Keep accurate records of each student's progress.
Communicate with parents about their child's progress.
What we provide
All lesson plans, materials and curriculum are provided. You do not need to prepare any teaching materials.
A full training program. No teaching experience needed.
Who we are looking for
Good in mathematics. A degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, actuarial science or a similar field is welcome.
Detail‑oriented and well organised. You notice small mistakes and keep your work in order.
Comfortable working in a system with clear rules that are applied consistently.
Interested in gaining experience in managing a centre, not only in teaching.
Able to communicate clearly and politely with parents and children.
Fluent in English. Chinese is an advantage.
Own transport. Willing to be assigned to either of our two branches in Petaling Jaya.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Working hours
Wednesday to Sunday. Monday and Tuesday off. One‑hour lunch break daily.
Wednesday: 9:30am to 6:30pm
Thursday and Friday: 10:30am to 6:30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 6:00pm
Physical classes only. No online classes. No evening classes.
Salary and benefits
RM4,500 to RM5,500 per month depending on your experience.
Medical and insurance.
Yearly review for salary increment, based on performance.
Yearly performance bonus.
