Role Overview

As a Node.js Developer at AMAST, you'll play an integral role in developing backend systems, integrating Agentic AI workflows, and deploying applications on Alibaba Cloud and AWS Cloud. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and optimized backend services.

Role Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Full Stack Node.js developer located at our new offices in Kuala Lumpur. The Full Stack Node.js developer will be responsible for developing front-end and back-end web applications, designing and implementing software solutions, writing efficient and clean code in JavaScript, and utilizing Redux.js for state management. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting and debugging applications, and ensuring optimal performance of the web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Node.js.
• Integrate Agentic AI into workflow automation pipelines.
• Build and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Design and optimize schemas and queries for MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain services on Alibaba Cloud and AWS Cloud.
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability of backend services.
• Collaborate with frontend (React.js) and mobile (Flutter) developers where applicable.
• Participate actively in agile development cycles: sprint planning, code reviews, and QA.

Requirements

• 3+ years of practical experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Node.js (preferably with frameworks like Express.js or NestJS).
• Experience with Alibaba Cloud and/or AWS Cloud (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Serverless).
• Strong familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL—schema design, optimization, indexing.
• Skilled in API design and integration best practices.
• Comfortable with CI/CD, test-driven development (TDD), and version control (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning abilities.
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.

Bonus (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Experience with React.js for web front-end or Flutter for cross-platform mobile apps.
• Practical experience integrating AI/ML models or working with Agentic AI orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Experience in event-driven systems

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
