Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. in Malaysia is hiring Java Developers (Full Stack) to build backend services in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot and frontends in Angular or React.

You will work on scoped features end-to-end, from database to UI, with code reviews and pairing to learn from experienced engineers. Requirements include proficiency in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, Angular/React, REST and microservices, Kafka, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Docker, CI/CD, and tests with JUnit/Mockito or Jest.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java (or Kotlin) with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on Angular or React with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven concepts.
• Familiar with Apache Kafka or messaging, producing and consuming events.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with logging/monitoring tools (Datadog).
• Knowledge of asynchronous messaging, retries and dead-letter handling.
• Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, CosmosDB or similar.
• Unit testing with JUnit/Mockito or Jest/Cypress; Git workflows (GitHub/GitLab).
• Right to work in Malaysia; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
• Build responsive frontend features using Angular or React.
• Create and maintain Kafka producers/consumers for event-driven features.
• Integrate backend APIs with frontend interfaces and ensure quality.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and fix bugs across backend, frontend and integrations.
• Support deployments and monitoring on Azure or AWS.
• Trace issues via logs and dashboards; participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers in Scrum or Kanban.
