Job summary

DIGITAL BRIGHT TECHNOLOGIES in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks a hands-on General Insurance application support engineer. You will handle incident resolution and collaborate with IT and business teams across the insurance core/frontend landscape.

Qualifications

• Strong design and programming skills in Java and related server side technologies (Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, REST APIs).
• Good working experience in SQL is a MUST; ETL will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge and experience with micro services.
• Experience in General Insurance systems such as policy admin, analytics/reporting and product rules configuration is important.
• Experience with DXC software suite listed above will be an added advantage.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux is a must.
• Knowledge in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in MQTT or Messaging protocol based technologies will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on General Insurance application support and incident resolution.
• Provide 1st Level support for General Insurance Core/Frontend applications and interfacing apps.
• Develop quality technical solutions and meet IT architecture standards.
• Manage BAU activities including incident resolution, patching, and performance tuning.
• Support onboarding of new applications and integration into General Insurance Core/Frontend systems.
• Ensure timely implementation of enhancements and product launches.
• Monitor application vulnerabilities and apply mitigations.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps culture.
• Analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate SIT/UAT/Production support.

Requirements

POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS :

The role involves hands-on General Insurance application support, incident resolution, and collaboration across IT and business teams.

Provide 1st Level support for General Insurance Core / Frontend application and other interfacing applications.

Provide quality technical solution, develop out of box solutions with considerations on meeting IT architecture standards.

Manage BAU activities including incident resolution, patching, and performance tuning.

Support onboarding of new applications and integration into General Insurance Core / Frontend application system.

Accountable for implementation timeline on enhancement pertaining to General Insurance Core / Frontend application, including product launch.

Monitor application vulnerabilities and apply mitigation strategies.

Lead and mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps culture.

Takes accountability, but not limited to, business requirements document, design / system architecture specifications, system test and integration plan, technical impact assessment and source code documentation.

Carry out day-to-day end of day processing support.

Manage and review vendor functional test results, deployment release note and package.

Provide periodical health report on General Insurance Core / Frontend application.

Conduct system and integration testing.

Coordinate and work with business users, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders on day-to-day basis on SIT, UAT and Production Support, users’ queries and database related issues.

Be able to analyze logs from servers and troubleshoot issues.
