Job summary

Seed Light PLT is seeking a remote, full-time full-stack engineer to build dashboards, client portals and data-backed web apps. You may work from anywhere with hours overlapping Malaysia, with the option to spend time at the Pulau Pinang studio.

The role requires 4+ years across frontend and backend development and experience with Next.js, TypeScript, Node, and a database. You will design data models, write and consume APIs, implement authentication and tests, and own deployment and monitoring

Qualifications

• 4+ years across front-end and back-end development.
• Shipped an application used daily and can discuss its design.
• Comfortable on both sides: React and TypeScript, plus a server and a database.
• Able to model data and plan migrations.
• Think about authentication, permissions, and resilience to bad input.
• Keep code simple so others can pick it up.

Job description

This is a remote role, worked from wherever you are on hours that overlap Malaysia office hours, with the option of time in the Pulau Pinang studio. It is open full time, on contract or as an internship. You build the applications behind the websites: dashboards, client portals and their data.

This role is also advertised as: Full stack engineer, Software engineer, Web application developer, Product engineer, Software developer.

Some clients need a working application alongside a marketing site. A booking system, a customer portal, a quoting tool, a dashboard pulling numbers out of four places. This role owns those, front to back.

It is deliberately separate from the site building roles. The work is longer, the state is real, and the failure modes are data problems rather than layout problems.

What you do

• Build web applications in Next.js and Node, with a real database behind them
• Design the data model before the screens, and keep it honest as things change
• Write and consume APIs, and handle the authentication around them
• Add tests where a silent failure would cost the client money
• Deploy, monitor and fix what you built, rather than handing it over and leaving

What we look for

• You have shipped an application that people used daily, and can talk through its design
• You are comfortable on both sides: React and TypeScript, plus a server and a database
• You know how to model data, and when a schema change needs a migration
• You think about authentication, permissions and what happens on bad input
• You keep things simple enough that somebody else can pick them up

Nice to have

• You have worked with Postgres or Supabase
• You have built something on top of a payment provider
• You have integrated an AI model into a product feature rather than a demo

Experience

4+ years across front-end and back-end development.
