Programme Overview

The Financial Sector Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) is a 3 + 9-month intensive graduate training programme, in collaboration with Asian Banking School (ABS), designed to equip talent with the right skills and knowledge for their transition into the financial services industry. UOB Malaysia is committed to recruiting and developing a team of trainees who will be coached to excel within the bank.

This position is open for immediate hiring. We are seeking candidates who can join our team promptly to contribute to our ongoing projects. Please note that only shortlisted candidates are contacted for the next stage of applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive credit evaluations on potential new borrowers and prepare recommendations to approving authorities.
  • Prepare detailed written reports on existing loans/credits for use by senior management and committees.
  • Monitor compliance with debt covenants for both existing and new clients.
  • Review and analyze loan documents such as facility agreements, legal opinions, financial statements etc.
  • Perform regular reviews of the loan portfolio, identifying problem accounts and preparing appropriate action plans.
What we look for in a UOB FSTEP Trainee
  • Malaysian nationality.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with less than three (3) years of working experience.
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills, adaptable, dedicated, committed, and independent.
  • Committed to complete the programme. (Trainees are subjected to a 1-year bond period)
