Job summary

Tanjung Marine Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced logistics professional to lead freight forwarding operations in Penang. You will manage end-to-end shipments, coordinate with customs, and ensure compliance across export/import activities while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires 3–5 years in freight forwarding with leadership exposure, plus fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia. A diploma/degree in logistics is required; Mandarin is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3–5 years freight forwarding experience with strong exposure to customs brokerage and 1–2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Port System, DagangNet, documentation, permits, HS code classification, OGA and customs procedures.
• Proven track record of dealing with regulatory agencies and port authorities.
• Proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Good communication and coordination skills; able to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving abilities; able to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments.
• Mandarin proficiency (added advantage) and familiarity with warehouse/transport coordination.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for customers on shipment enquiries and updates; resolve issues promptly and maintain relationships for repeat business.
• Coordinate end-to-end shipment process (export/import/transshipment); ensure customs compliance and documentation; monitor movement and liaise with warehouse and transport teams.
• Ensure accuracy of shipping documents and system entries; handle customs clearance coordination and documentation; maintain records.
• Handle delays, cargo damage, or customs issues; provide solutions to minimize disruption and update stakeholders.
