Our client is a subsidiary of a Hong Kong public listed company and a China state-owned company, providing comprehensive logistics solutions including Freight Forwarding (customs clearance and haulage), Project Logistics, Contract Logistics, Cross-Border e-Commerce Logistics, and more. They are currently looking for the right candidate to fill the following position:

FORWARDING MANAGER (Customs Clearance) [Mandarin Speaking]

(Based in Setia Alam HQ, Selangor)

JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for budget control, cost analysis, process improvement, and daily customs clearance operations.
• Manage the import and export of goods, complete necessary paperwork, and coordinate with government agencies and customs authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance, minimize delays, and ensure compliance with laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee import and export processes, prepare and submit documentation such as customs declarations, invoices, and shipping documents.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, stay updated on laws, classify goods, determine duties, and obtain necessary licenses.
• Liaise with government agencies and customs authorities to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
• Provide customs advice and guidance to clients, interpret laws, and facilitate customs processes.
• Coordinate with shipping and logistics teams to ensure timely transportation and customs clearance.
• Maintain accurate records of import/export activities and documentation.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, trade agreements, tariffs, and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders.
• Investigate errors and discrepancies, communicate with authorities, and report to management.
• Maintain proper documentation and participate in tendering, quotations, and solutions design.
• Ensure accurate processing of end-of-day reports and documentation.
• Prepare reports as required and undertake additional tasks as assigned.
• Enforce HR ISO 9001 policies and participate in audits.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma with at least 6 years’ experience in import-export operations and customs clearance in logistics companies.
• Experience in automotive customs clearance is an advantage.
• Knowledge of customs procedures, tariffs, duties, regulations, and documentation (K1, K2, K3, K4, K8, K9).
• Familiarity with HS codes, duty tax computation/exemption.
• Must possess a KEK licence.
• Good networking with port customs, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Friendly disposition with good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Chinese (written & spoken), English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
