Sarawak Oil Palms is seeking a Food Technologist in Malaysia to develop new food products and optimize processes. A degree in Food Science or Food Technology is required, with preference for up to one year of industry experience.

The role involves planning baking and frying trials, evaluating taste panels for flavor, appearance, and texture, and testing shelf life. Collaboration with marketing, production, and procurement is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science / Food Technology.
• Preferably 1 year of working experience in Food Industry.
• Knowledge in Food Act & Food Safety Regulations.
• Familiar with basic microscope handling techniques.
• Familiar with fundamental baking and frying methods.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meeting tight development timelines.

Responsibilities

• To develop new food product / process or improve existing ones.
• To plan, perform and evaluate baking / frying trials.
• To conduct and evaluate taste panels to access flavor / appearance and texture.
• Testing of shelf life and stability of foods products.
• Working with cross-functional teams like marketing, production and procurement.
