About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Food Technologist cum Quality Assurance Officer to join our team at Kumpulan BTC Berhad. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and compliance across our manufacturing operations in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

What you'll be doing

Develop new food products, improve existing ones, and optimize production processes to meet market demands and consumer preferences

Conduct research and experiments with ingredients, processing techniques, and packaging to improve food quality, safety, and shelf life

Developing and implementing robust quality assurance protocols and procedures to monitor and maintain food safety and quality standards

Conducting regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, equipment, and finished products to identify and address any quality or safety issues

Collaborating with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any quality-related problems

Staying up-to-date with relevant food safety regulations and industry best practices, and ensuring the company's compliance

Providing technical expertise and training to the production team to enhance their understanding of food safety and quality

Maintaining detailed records and documentation to demonstrate compliance and support continuous improvement

What we're looking for

Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance or food technologist role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry

Strong understanding of food safety regulations, such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Proficiency in using quality assurance tools and software

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
