Job summary

Tastiway Sdn Bhd in Jitra, Kedah, is hiring a Lab Assistant to join our food technology and safety team on a full-time basis. You will support laboratory operations and help ensure food safety and quality control across our products.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Laboratory Science, Food Science, Chemistry or related field (Diploma or higher).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and data recording.
• Good understanding of food safety principles and lab safety practices.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work methodically.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and sterilisation of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Conducting routine laboratory tests and analyses on food samples according to established protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Recording and documenting test results accurately and maintaining detailed laboratory records.
• Monitoring and maintaining laboratory safety standards and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Supporting quality control processes including sampling, testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Performing maintenance checks on laboratory equipment and reporting any malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
• Assisting in the preparation of samples and reagents for testing and analysis.
• Collaborating with senior laboratory staff and other departments to resolve quality issues.
• Keeping the laboratory clean, organised and free from contamination.
• Supporting the implementation of food safety and hygiene protocols across the facility.
