A leading airline in Asia is searching for a Flight Dispatcher to join its Flight Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient flight operations by analyzing weather conditions, managing ATC slots, and providing operational support throughout the flight process. The role requires excellent analytical skills and effective communication to coordinate between various stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
AirAsia X is seeking Flight Dispatcher to join our lean and high performing Flight Operations (Operations Control Centre) team. The Flight Dispatcher executes flight planning activities across the AAX network in such a manner that flights are planned from the origin to destination with utmost consideration of safety and economy in accordance to policies, rules and regulatory requirements for safe, legal and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Analyze the latest available weather forecasts, NOTAM, and the aircraft performance; determine route and flight altitude requirements for each flight based on most economical route, taking into consideration meteorological conditions, safety and legal requirements of the MCAR and the OM-A.
Negotiate routes on a tactical basis with relevant ATC service providers.
Monitor, analyze and manage all ATC slots to avoid potential delays, negotiate with relevant centralized ATC units, airport authorities and respective Air Navigation Service Providers worldwide.
Prepare and file ATC flight plans and ensures that OFP and all briefing material are provided to operating crews in a timely manner for the briefing at base and outstations.
Analyze and calculate take-off and landing performance data based on the airport and meteorological conditions and technical assessment of the aircraft.
Ensure selection of take-off, destination, en route, and Extended Operations (ETOPS/EDTO) alternate airports for each AAX flight, ensuring minimum fuel requirements are met prescribed by the company and regulatory body.
While executing the Flight plans you will ensure to optimize the commercial payload capability by adhering to Company policies and procedures and coordinate with other operations stakeholders for uninterrupted flow of operational critical information to avoid disruption.
Ensure the availability of respective weather report and NOTAM for each and every identified flight.
Support the Duty Executive during periods of disruption.
Provide in-flight mission support/flight tracking during operational phase of flight which includes monitoring weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and the progress of the flight.
Coordinate with OCC Duty Executive whether to delay or cancel flights if unsafe conditions threaten the safety of the flights.
Update the PIC any significant changes which possible affecting the flight progress and recommend amendment of the flight plan, such as rerouting and, if required, en route diversion in the interest of safety.
Coordinate with other operations departments towards ensuring smooth and timely dispatch of all AAX flights.
Responsible for timely decision making on Flight Dispatch related issues and coordinate with the respective department during a crisis or abnormal situations.
Disseminates any pertinent information to Flight Crew at stations that requires attention.
Carry out required processes/procedures in the event of a typhoon or volcanic ash affecting our operations.
Undergo annual regulatory requirement training to maintain dispatch currency.
Any other duties assigned by superiors.

Experience and Qualifications
Preferably with at least one (01) year of experience in airline, airport or ground handling environment.
Must acquire Flight Dispatch license or attended initial flight dispatch course.
Familiar with crew, schedule and engineering limitations and impacts.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Proficient in Microsoft and Google software.
Familiar with any Flight Planning Systems will be added advantage.
