Job summary

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission seeks an experienced professional to lead assessment and implementation of emerging communications technologies in fixed and broadcast domains, delivering domain insights and supporting MyTMAP2030 execution.

The role involves managing technology projects, trials and TED applications, contributing to standards development, and engaging with industry and academia to promote adoption and regulatory readiness within national priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (telecommunications, technology management, policy or business) is an added advantage.
• Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience in the communications and multimedia industry or related tech sectors.
• Working knowledge of CMA 1998 and related regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with standards development processes (e.g. MTSFB, DSM, APT, ITU).

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment and tracking of developments within assigned technology domains (Fixed, Broadcast) to provide timely insights.
• Manage domain-level inputs to MyTMAP2030 by monitoring tech developments, trials and standards activities.
• Contribute to MyTMAP2030 coordination and execution with structured domain updates.
• Develop and review technology roadmaps, policies and guidelines for adoption and implementation.
• Lead technology projects, trials and proof-of-concept initiatives and validate use cases.
• Manage TED applications by evaluating submissions and facilitating assessments.
• Governance of RF-EMF to strengthen policy positioning and inter-agency alignment.
• Engage industry, academia and stakeholders to obtain insights for technology adoption.
• Plan and deliver programmes (Digital Outlook Series) to promote awareness of emerging tech.
• Provide guidance to team members and support departmental deliverables.
