Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a firmware security engineer to help integrate security into our firmware CI/CD pipelines. You will work with embedded teams to strengthen bootloader security, firmware signing, and vulnerability handling.

You should have a bachelor's in a relevant field and hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, and security tools like Polaris or Black Duck. This role offers a collaborative R&D environment across global teams and opportunities to impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or CS field.
  • Experience with embedded systems or firmware development (C/C++ preferred).
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools, Git, and build systems.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and application security tools.
  • Proficient in Python or shell scripting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in cross-functional R&D teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration of Black Duck and Polaris into firmware CI/CD autobuild pipeline
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate security scanning, reporting, and build checks
  • Execute and monitor security scans; track vulnerability findings
  • Support EUCRA compliance activities.
  • Assist in firmware security feature development and validation
  • Support documentation, reporting, and evidence collection for SSDF / EUCRA compliance
  • Collaborate with firmware teams to identify and remediate security risks early in development

  • Support EUCRA compliance activities.
  • Assist in firmware security feature development and validation (e.g., bootloader, firmware signing)
  • Support documentation, reporting, and evidence collection for SSDF / EUCRA compliance
  • Collaborate with firmware teams to identify and remediate security risks early in development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Embedded Systems
  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems or firmware development (C/C++ preferred)
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and build systems
  • Understanding or interest in:
    • Cybersecurity concepts (secure boot, encryption, vulnerability management)
    • Application security tools (SAST/SCA such as Polaris, Black Duck)
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell, C/C++)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in cross-functional R&D teams
