Job summary

Western Digital in Malaysia is seeking a firmware engineer to design, develop and maintain firmware for eHDD in a fast-paced, collaborative team in Malaysia. You will work with C/C++, Python, and data structures to implement drivers and data paths for SAS, SATA, PCIe interfaces across Windows and Linux environments.

Fresh graduates are welcome; bachelor's or master's in CS or Computer/Electronics Engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python with knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain firmware for eHDD using best practices.
Design and implementation of data structures, software algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores using C++ and Python.
Deliver storage products with SAS, SATA, PCIe interfaces.
Collaborate on solutions across hardware and software platforms (servers, RAID, Windows and Linux).
Participate in planning and coordinate technical investigations from problem to solution.
Create design documents for firmware development phases.
