Firmware Engineer, Calibration and Test Center of Excellence
Apply locations Subang Jaya, Malaysia time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id IRC95507 The Firmware Engineer will be responsible for implementing various software programs in the COE, including new features, analyses and unit testing to ensure compliance with Electrical Engineering requirements.

G eneral Responsibilities
• Conducts analyses for designs, programs, debugs and modified software
• Handles the troubleshooting of codes for firmware applications
• Handles analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
• Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design
• Conducts the programming of machine language, assembly language and high level languages

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Working both independently and with others within the team, develop software tools and libraries that are needed to enable deployment of our new common hardware platform, as well as enabling design engineers to perform simulations of their calibration requirements, helping reduce time to market for Sensata products. Examples of tasks that the engineer would perform are, but by no means limited to.

General Responsibilities

  • Using ASIC/ASSP/Micro datasheets be able to write firmware to support both communication and output protocols.
  • Work with Engineering and Production teams within the company to support rollout of new ASIC/ASSP/Micro devices and assist in development/testing of existing devices.
  • Look for opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance on existing processes.
  • Write Windows software applications that will enable design engineering to execute faster on projects.
  • Work on new prototype and concept hardware designs to grow the adoption of the common hardware platform for more use cases.
  • Development of software to control external embedded hardware for automated test equipment and other applicable development for lab type applications.

  • Solid understanding of C/C++/C#
