Job description

Key Responsibilities
Financial Risk
  • Oversee the management of market risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk in the banking book.
  • Support and enhance the bank’s Asset & Liability Management (ALM) risk frameworks and stress testing processes.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and capital impact assessments, including those required by Basel III/IV and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal financial risk models and ensure accurate and timely risk reporting to senior management and regulators.
Credit Risk
  • Monitor and assess counterparty, retail, and corporate credit exposures across the bank’s portfolios.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness and risk-adjusted return of new and existing clients through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Support the development and validation of internal credit rating models and credit risk scorecards.
  • Ensure adherence to group-wide credit risk appetite, policies, and limits, while identifying and escalating emerging credit risk concerns.
  • Participate in credit committees and support strategic decision-making through risk analytics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are strongly preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in financial and/or credit risk management in banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of Basel frameworks, BNM guidelines, and credit risk rating systems.
  • Proficient in risk modelling tools and platforms such as QRM, Moody’s Risk Analyst, SAS, Python, or SQL.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex risk issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
