We are a leading insurance provider in Malaysia, known for our innovation, customer-centric solutions, and strong financial foundation. As we continue to grow and adapt in a dynamic regulatory and economic environment, we are looking for a talented Financial Risk Manager to join our Risk Management team and help safeguard our financial resilience.
As a Financial Risk Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks that could impact the company's balance sheet, earnings, and long-term sustainability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Actuarial, Investment, Finance, and Compliance, and play a key role in enterprise risk management and regulatory reporting.
Lead the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of key financial risks, including market, credit, liquidity, and insurance risks.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the company’s financial resilience.
Develop and maintain risk models and frameworks in compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements and other regulatory guidelines.
Work closely with Investment and Finance teams to evaluate risk-return trade-offs and support strategic asset allocation.
Provide risk insights to support decision-making at Board and senior management levels.
Prepare regular risk reports for management committees, Board Risk Committee, and regulators.
Monitor emerging risks, market trends, and regulatory developments impacting the insurance sector.
Support risk-based capital (RBC) calculations and ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) exercises.
Drive continuous improvement in risk governance, policies, and tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g. FRM, CFA, FSA) are an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably in insurance or financial services.
Strong understanding of insurance risk, investment risk, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. BNM’s RBC framework, IFRS 17).
Proficiency in risk modeling, data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, R, Python, SAS), and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
