Job summary

Capture Consulting Malaysia is assisting a multinational Bursa-listed manufacturing/FMCG group in recruiting an Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting. The role owns monthly and annual closing, group consolidation, and statutory reporting, working closely with senior Finance leadership and external auditors.

The ideal candidate will independently manage the close calendar, deliver accurate, timely reporting from day one, and drive improvements across processes and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/MICPA)
• MIA membership or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Corporate Reporting, Financial Reporting, or Group Consolidation
• Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements
• Hands-on month-end/year-end closing and group consolidation
• Experience coordinating external audits in listed/MNC environments

Responsibilities

Our client, a well-established multinational and Bursa Malaysia-listed manufacturing/FMCG group, is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting to join their Finance team. This role owns the monthly and annual closing process, group consolidation, and statutory/regulatory reporting, working closely with senior Finance leadership and external auditors.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can independently manage the close calendar and deliver accurate, timely reporting from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare group consolidated financial statements, statutory accounts, and quarterly Bursa Malaysia reporting requirements
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items
• Analyse financial results and variances, providing commentary to support business decision-making
• Support preparation of reports and materials for Audit Committee and Board reporting
• Ensure compliance with MFRS/IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, and Group accounting policies
• Coordinate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and resolve audit queries
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on accounting treatment and reporting matters
• Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements across reporting and closing processes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent)
• MIA membership (or equivalent recognised body)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Corporate Reporting, Financial Reporting, or Group Consolidation
• Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements
• Hands-on experience in month-end/year-end closing and group consolidation, able to independently manage closing activities
• Experience coordinating external audits and managing audit deliverables
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, Power Query)
• Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable managing multiple deadlines
• Experience in a listed company or MNC environment preferred

Working Arrangement

Please note this role requires availability during the first two weeks of each month to support critical closing activities, including working through public holidays that fall within this period (replacement leave provided per company policy).
