Objectives of the Position
  • Assume functional leadership in the Financial Reporting team.
  • Manage, supervise, and support team members to deliver compliant services to BASF group companies.
  • Ensure service timelines and quality meet targets.
  • Coach and develop team members through training and on-the-job coaching.
  • Support project initiatives like Continuous Improvements, Technology Enhancements, and Internal Controls.
  • Perform Financial Reporting tasks as required.
Main Tasks

Functional Tasks:

  • Supervise Financial Reporting transactions for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Review accounting bookings, master data, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Conduct analytical reviews and prepare financial reports.
  • Lead in working groups and act as a 'Key User' for training and troubleshooting.
  • Support the manager in planning and resource allocation.

Compliance and Quality:

  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Continuous Improvement and Projects:

  • Drive process improvements and lead regional/global projects.

Knowledge Management:

  • Develop and update training materials and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Stakeholder Cooperation:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and global units.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or business; CPA or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in Financial Reporting or related fields, with supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Financial reporting, MS Office, and proficiency in English and other languages beneficial.
