Qualifications

Objectives of the Position
  • Assume a functional leadership role in the Financial Reporting team.
  • Manage, supervise, and support team members to deliver compliant services to BASF group companies.
  • Ensure service quality and timeliness meet targets.
  • Coach and develop team members through training and on-the-job coaching.
  • Support project initiatives like Continuous Improvements, Technology Enhancements, and Internal Controls.
  • Perform Financial Reporting tasks as required.
Main Tasks

Functional Tasks:

  • Supervise transaction processing and ensure quality in accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Review accounting transactions, master data, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of accounts and transactions.
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial reports for various stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members as a “Key User”.
  • Lead working groups and act as backup for the Manager.

Compliance and Quality:

  • Participate in audits and respond to queries.
  • Maintain documentation to meet internal and legal requirements.

Continuous Improvement and Projects:

  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Lead regional and global projects.
  • Support standardization and productivity initiatives.

Knowledge Management:

  • Design and improve training materials and processes.
  • Maintain a knowledge database and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with internal teams, auditors, and external partners.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or business; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 5 years in Financial Reporting, with supervisory experience preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting and accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems like SAP.
