We are seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes across multiple business units. This role is critical in producing accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights to support internal decision-making, drive performance evaluation, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly team-level and product-level P&Ls to support internal performance evaluation and business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain cost allocation policies to ensure appropriate assignment of shared costs across business units.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure cost centers are accurately tagged and mapped across the ledger.
- Monitor expense trends and provide variance analyses against budgets and forecasts.
- Support development of dashboards or visual management reports to track financial KPIs.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead and coordinate the quarterly operating plan, budgeting and forecasting cycles across departments.
- Work closely with department heads to build detailed financial models and identify business drivers.
- Translate commercial strategies into robust financial plans and forecasts.
- Accounting Operations
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to support audit and statutory filing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a financial liaison across Finance, Operations, Tech, and Trading teams to ensure accurate financial insights.
- Partner with the software engineering or data team to enhance reporting workflows, controls, and accuracy.
- Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Projects
- Identify and execute opportunities for automation and process enhancement in financial reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accountancy/Business, with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Big 4 accounting firm experience desired but not a must
- Prior experience with VC or Hedge Fund structures would be viewed favourably.
- Strong initiative and ability to think outside the box.
- Demonstrated experience in management reporting, budgeting, and cost allocation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people across different cultures.
- Technically competent and hands-on professional.
- Good with information systems process flow and controls.
- Experience in SQL / Power Query preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with manipulating voluminous data for reporting purposes will be a plus.
- Prior regional experience is a plus but not a must.
- Prior experience with Netsuite is a plus but not a must.
